The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) probe of sabotage at the Gaborone Central constituency, which resulted in poor performance in the 2014 elections, is shaking the party to the core.

Mmegi investigations have uncovered a litany of underhand dealings by opposing camps within the ruling party.

A hearing by the Council of Elders this week exposed troubles that have bedevilled Gaborone Central, a constituency so dear to political parties. The Council of Elders heard that the democrats have been de-campaigning each other to the extent that even during the 2014 general elections some camps worked with the opposition to ensure the loss of the rival faction.
