A miscalculation in the allowances of registration officers employed by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) during the first leg of voter registration has led to 94 officers owed over P100,000.

The officers employed in the Mochudi West and Mochudi East constituencies during the month-long registration in October discovered at the end of the exercise that they have been underpaid.

While others around the country were each paid P4,269.80, those who were engaged in Kgatleng District only received P3,270.90, a shortfall of P998,90. The supervisors took home over P2,000 less of what they were entitled to.
