The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has announced a supplementary voter registration period, which will run from January 12 to February 13, 2026.

In a media release issued this week, IEC Secretary Jeff Siamisang revealed that the supplementary voters’ registration exercise shall be carried out at the offices of Principal Registration Officers for each constituency between the hours of 7:30am and 12:45pm and from 1:45pm to 4:30pm during working days (Monday to Friday only).

“Those appointed as Principal Registration Officers are all officers of the Independent Electoral Commission based in District Offices. Every citizen of Botswana who has attained the age of 18 years, and is in possession of a valid National Identity Card (Omang), and is not disqualified from registering as a voter under Section 6 of the Electoral Act, is called upon to apply in person for registration during the appointed registration period,” Siamisang further disclosed.
