Govt lawyers protest 'rigged' LSB elections

The animosity between government lawyers and the council of the Law Society of Botswana (LSB) has reached another level where the conduct and results of the organisation's recent elections are being questioned.

The lobby backing government lawyers has accused the group led by former LSB chairman, Tebogo Sebego, of manipulating the elections in its favour.

Government lawyers say basic rules of fair play were violated on an extensive scale. They alleged that returning officers denied them the chance to verify and challenge the results.
