Gootau resident dies in road mishap

A 66-year-old man from Gootau lost his life in a tragic road accident after his Honda CR-V collided with a horse and trailer truck near Pilikwe junction.

Confirming the incident, Palapye Police Station commander, Superintendent Koziba Phuluweni, said the fatal accident occurred at around 4:45 am along the Palapye–Martin’s Drift road on Saturday.

Phuluweni explained that the horse and trailer truck, which was being driven by a 35-year-old woman, reportedly hit potholes along the road, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The truck then collided head-on with the oncoming CR-V.
