Francistown registers 60 teen pregnancies in three months

FRANCISTOWN: Teen pregnancies registered in the second city continue to show an unabating trend, with 60 cases recorded between October and December 2024, a council official and Urban Development Committee (UDC) secretary has said.

Principal District Development Officer, Masego Pitso, indicated that the teen pregnancy statistics prove that many girls are defiled in the second city when she was giving an update on the UDC report during the last full council session pitso.

She stated that in the second quarter of last year (July to September) they recorded 57 cases of defilement.
