A Choppies Supermarket truck trailer that was undergoing repairs caught fire and destroyed stock valued at more than P75,000 on Sunday afternoon at the company’s warehouse in Commerce Park, Gaborone.

Confirming the incident, No.13 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Mmoloke Sebako, said police are investigating the matter. He explained that three workers were welding a damaged portion of the trailer when it suddenly caught fire, burning all the goods that had been loaded inside.

“Part of the stock that was loaded in the trailer, worth more than P75,000, was destroyed in the process,” Sebako said.
