FRANCISTOWN: Francistown City Council (FCC) has adopted a motion to suspend its membership of the Botswana Association of Local Authorities (BALA) citing corruption, dictatorship and general bad management at the local governance collective.

The mover of the motion, councillor Ignatius Moswaane said BALA's constitution was adopted in 2010 to allow members of the executive committee to secure their seats.

Moswaane said there was no transparency in the running of BALA and further accused the association of failure to account for funds.
He accused BALA president Mpho Moruakgomo of being a dictator who has put the association and the Masepala Group of Companies into his pocket.
