Farmers lead fight against stock theft in Mahalapye

Stock theft, once a major concern for farmers in the Mahalapye area, is now largely under control thanks to the active involvement of local farmers' committees.

Mahalapye Central Police Station acting commander, Assistant Superintendent Malakia Gabana, said the situation has improved significantly following efforts to strengthen farmers' committees across the district.

Gabana explained that the committees have been working tirelessly to combat stock theft by educating farmers on the importance of taking responsibility for the welfare and security of their livestock.
