Elderly pedestrian dies after road accident near Mochudi

An attempt to cross the road at Thagale Lands, near Mosaditshwene, along the A1 Highway ended tragically for a 78-year-old man, who was hit by a vehicle, leading to a police investigation into the fatality.

No.12 District Traffic Officer, Superintendent Itumeleng Maruru, confirmed the incident, stating that they received a report on the matter on Saturday around noon. He said the elderly man sustained serious injuries and later succumbed whilst receiving treatment at Princess Marina Hospital.

Maruru said the driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old woman, is currently in police custody as investigations into the matter continue.

Don't let FMD outbreak drag on
