Elderly man dies following Ranaka car accident

An elderly man has died following a car accident along the B05 road near Ranaka village on Friday afternoon. Police said the fatal crash, which involved a single Toyota Hilux, occurred at around 3pm.

Southern Divisional Traffic Officer, Assistant Commissioner Boiki Mojalemotho told The Monitor that investigations into the exact cause of the accident are underway.

“Preliminary information suggests the elderly driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a culvert, resulting in severe head injuries,” he stated.
