The Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS) boss, Peter Magosi might be in hot soup after his offices were raided by Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) officers who took away piles of files, including one for Isaac Kgosi and his erstwhile junior Welheminah Maswabi.

Kgosi and Maswabi were arrested Hollywood-style by Magosi’s officers last year with allegations of them stealing millions and millions of State money. Now, it appears it could be the top spy’s turn for the run.

When contacted about the lurid details of misappropriation of government funds and property by Magosi, DIS spokesperson Edward Robert was curt.  “The Directorate does not comment on operational issues related to the upkeep of the Director General nor does it disclose particulars of operations involving other agencies to the media. “Commenting on ongoing investigations would not only be ill-conceived, but prejudicial as well,” Robert said. But allegations persist that because of rampant corruption at the spy agency, intelligence reports are manipulated and there are selective investigations intended to favour certain people. On scenting this, DCEC raided DIS offices.
