Cousins fight lands one in hospital

A 33-year-old man is currently fighting for his life at the Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital after he was stabbed with a sharp object by his cousin on Thursday night.

The cousins allegedly got into a misunderstanding at their home in Makolojwane ward, Serowe that led to a fight which left one with serious injuries. No2 Police District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Paul Oketsang said the cousin has sustained serious injuries on his stomach and is currently hospitalised in critical condition.

“We received the report of the incident at around 8pm. Police responded to the report and rushed the victim to Sekgoma Memorial Hospital where he was later referred to Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital. He is currently fighting for his life,” Oketsang said. “His 27-year-old cousin has since been arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm. He is likely to be taken to Serowe Magistrates Court for arraignment today,” he added. Oketsang said investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish what the fight between the cousins was all about.
