Citizenship raises flurry of questions in parly

Labour and Home Affairs Minister, Edwin Batshu was on Wednesday taken to task by Member of Parliament (Gaborone Central), Dumelang Saleshando when he asked him to explain what Batswana whose citizenship had been stripped because of having one non-Motswana parent were expected to do in a situation where they never held any other citizenship.

Saleshando asked the question following recent developments at the Department of Immigration and Citizenship where several people were denied the e-passport on the grounds that they had to renounce one of their parents' citizenship.

His question was an addition to Kgatleng-West MP Gilbert Mangole's question in Parliament.
