Botswana donates P188, 666 to Haiti

The Botswana Red Cross Society's (BRCS) Haiti Appeal campaign has raised a total of P188, 666, which was handed over to disaster stricken Haiti yesterday.

The hand over ceremony took place at a Gaborone hotel where the donations were received by the regional representative of s    outhern Africa, Kenodur Gabelle from the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) on behalf of the Haiti Red Cross.

BRCS embarked on the Haiti Appeal campaign early this year after a devastating earthquake that hit Haiti left hundreds of thousands of people without food, shelter and other humanitarian needs. Many others lost their lives in that disaster.
