It was a happy day for many disadvantaged people on Saturday as Botho College gave various donations to them in an effort to give back to the community on the occasion of their 15 year anniversary celebrations.

The college celebrated its anniversary under the theme  '15 ways of giving more' and gave donations to 15 charity organisations on the day. When addressing the gathering, the school's Managing Director Seela Raja Ram said since the school is citizen owned, it sees itself as an integral part of the community and that one of the college's core values is entrenched in its name 'Botho.' Ram said that as they gave donations in Gaborone, their two institutions in Maun and Francistown were also giving donations to deserving charities in their respective locations:

"We believe that it is our duty to support the government to help eradicate poverty. This initiative is yet another way for Botho College to give back to the community that has supported us in our journey through the years," she said. Ram said that all the 15 donations amounted to over P75,000.  Ray of Hope Foundation and Dinaletsana Development Trust were given a P5,000 cheque, Mochudi Resource Centre For the Blind was given two bunk beds, Kamogelo Orphans and Vulnerable Children Project was given groceries, toiletry and stationary that included paper glue, crayons and other while M Joan Cousin Centre at Lobatse was given doors for both front and back entrances.
