Botswana Federation of Public, Private Parastatals Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) is still waiting for the government to pay its members the back pays of salary increment of three and four percent for financial year 2016/17 and 2017/18.

Following a protracted battle between BOFEPUSU and the employer over government’s decision to make unilateral salary increment for public workers, the parties settled for a consent order before Justice Tshepho Motswagole in June 2017, agreeing that government should pay the BOFEPUSU members the three and four percent increase awarded to other public workers for financial year 2016/17 and 2017/18.

The order was however subject to BOFEPUSU issuing a rebuttal statement clarifying an article that appeared in The Patriot on Sunday newspaper edition of May 27.
