A 25-year-old man from Bobonong has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 32-year-old man who was fatally stabbed with a sharp object during the early hours of Christmas Eve.
Bobonong Acting Station Commander, Assistant Superintendent Legobonye Nkalolang, said the incident occurred at the Ndokeng Music Festival, which was held at Riverview Garden in Bobonong.
Nkalolang explained that investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of a misunderstanding that allegedly escalated into a physical altercation between the two men, resulting in the death of one of them.
“During the fight, the suspect allegedly stabbed the deceased with a sharp object. Police rushed the injured man to Bobonong Primary Hospital, where he was certified dead by doctors on arrival,” he said.
Meanwhile, Nkalolang noted that Christmas Day celebrations across his policing area were generally peaceful, with no violent crimes recorded.
He appealed to members of the public to continue enjoying the festive season responsibly and to resolve disputes peacefully to avoid unnecessary loss of life.
