Village Senior Magistrate, Tshepo Thedi has remained adamant that she will only entertain the thought of bail for Joseph Maologe (26), who stands accused of fatally stabbing his 43-year-old lover, if he undergoes a psychiatric assessment.

Maologe is alleged to have brutally killed his 43-year-old lover on Christmas Day, a day supposed to be merry for all, but turned out gloomy for the two. He is alleged to have stabbed her multiple times before she succumbed to her injuries.

Appearing before the court today, Inspector Thebeetsile for the State said investigations are well on track and the matter will soon be handed over to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for prosecution.
