Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), has officially announced Diana Kaaetze as its candidate for the upcoming Kgalagadi South constituency by-election.

This decision follows a strategic agreement between two aspiring candidates, as one stepped aside to pave the way for a united campaign.

Party president Mpho Balopi, along with members of the Central Committee, recently visited Tsabong village to engage with the aspirants and ensure a smooth consensus. Kaaetze’s candidacy was formally unveiled during a press conference held this morning. The by-election was necessitated by the passing of the area's Member of Parliament, Dr. Micus Chimbombi. The BDP leadership has been emphasising the importance of unity and compromise to secure victory in the constituency. Kaaetze represented BDP at the polls last October but lost to the late Dr Chimbombi.
