BDP MPs, cllrs meet to introspect

It is expected that the exercise will yield fruits for MPS, councillors and the party. Some MPs feel the session will help them to get answers about the Economic Stimulus Package (ESP) in their constituencies. The MPs and councillors are expected to discuss government policies, party issues and any other issues that affect them. The initiative of bringing MPs and councillors together was suggested by Khama last year.
“Some MPs have been complaining that ESP is not bringing any new jobs to their constituencies. They feel that other constituencies have more projects than the others. Again, the relationship between the ministers and ourselves has deteriorated. Therefore, the meeting will help us to iron things out. The ministers have a tendency of refusing to answer our questions in Parliament and sometimes proposing bills that they had never consulted us on,” one MP said.
