BDP kicks off membership revival drive

The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) this weekend launches a drive to boost its membership as part of gearing up for the 2019 general elections. This drive comes after the party announced that it will start its 2019 campaign early and hold primary elections in opposition-held constituencies.

BDP Gaborone region chair, Bontsi Monare said the membership revival drive will be held under the theme, “Unity is our Strength” and will be attended by all Gaborone branch committees, ward, cell and all party members.

Speakers expected at the event include BDP women’s wing president Dorcas Makgato, legislators Botlogile Tshireletso, Phillip Makgalemele and Kagiso Molatlhegi. The launch will be done by BDP secretary general, Botsalo Ntuane.
