The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) is investigating its Francistown regional chairman Botho Ntirang for allegedly attacking African National Congress Youth League president Julius Malema.

BDP secretary general Kentse Rammidi said that they are investigating the matter concerning Ntirang's public statement against Malema and that the party will take appropriate measures to resolve it.

"We have advised our structures to desist from making comments directed at challenging the integrity of our fraternal friends, the civil society in Botswana and the region at large. The principle of botho has been very much intricately woven in the fabric of our party and we would not want such comments to be associated with the BDP," he said.
