BDP drops Merafhe

Former Vice President, Mompati Merafhe has been dropped from the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) central committee. He has been replaced by newly appointed Vice President, Mokgweetsi Masisi.


The changes were made at the ruling party’s last central committee meeting held on December 8 by President Ian Khama. He told the meeting that he decided to make changes after he was informed of Merafhe’s ill-health. Merafhe was an additional committee member at the time of his exit.
