BCL liquidation a conundrum for taxi operators

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Taxi operators in Selebi-Phikwe have expressed mixed reactions over the implications of the government’s decision to close down BCL mine for liquidation on their business.

Speaking to Mmegi, the Selebi-Phikwe taxi association chairman Bareetsi Sanoto explained that the liquidation is going to negatively affect their business, as most of their customers are employees of the mine.

He added that according to their understanding of liquidation, there is a high possibility of retrenchment, noting that should that happen they would be forced to close down their business.
