BA ISAGO University has reaffirmed its commitment to producing industry-ready Graduates through bold Leadership, Curriculum Innovation and initiatives designed to connect Students to real-world Career pathways.
Speaking at a Press Conference held at the University’s Gaborone Campus, Key Leaders outlined the Institution’s deliberate steps toward aligning Education with evolving Market needs, underscored by the launch of a new Academic Programme and the announcement of the 2025 BA ISAGO Career Fair.
In her address, recently appointed Vice President, Business Development & Corporate Services, Amagolo Gabasiane, set the tone with a passionate reaffirmation of the University’s Vision, Mission and Values, being collaboration, student-centeredness, inclusivity, accountability and academic excellence. “These Values define who we are and what we strive for, not just in theory, but in practice,” she said. “They guide how we design and deliver our Programmes, how we support our students in their academic journey and how we partner with Industry.”
A major highlight of Gabasiane’s presentation was the introduction of a new Degree Programme, the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics. This offering is the latest in BA ISAGO’s efforts to offer Market-responsive Curricula that meet the demands of Botswana’s dynamic Economic landscape and support National Development Goals. “We are proud to be Leaders in Curriculum Development that is future-focused and demand-driven,” she noted. “This Programme responds directly to the growing need for Professionals who can operate at the intersection of Agriculture, Business and Policy.”
The Press Conference also saw the official unveiling of the 2025 BA ISAGO Career Fair, presented by Dr Gugulethu Ndebele, Director, Admissions, Marketing & Communications. This year’s event will be held at the Gaborone Campus on Friday, 20th June and is tailored specifically for Secondary School completers preparing for Tertiary Education. “The transition from Secondary School to Varsity is one of the most defining moments in a young person’s life,” Dr Ndebele said. “Our Career Fair is designed to guide, equip and inspire these Students as they explore their Academic and Career paths.”
The Career Fair features participation from various corporations across all Programme areas, highlighting BA ISAGO’s commitment to connecting Students with their future leaders. The event provides a valuable opportunity for prospective Students to engage directly with industry representatives and gather insights into what their chosen Programmes entail in the real world. Whether they have decided on a field of study or are still exploring options, these interactions are intended to inform, motivate and prepare them for what lies ahead.
At its core, this event is about preparing future Students to not only survive, but thrive, in today’s workforce. “We want them to leave our Campus not just with Degrees, but with confidence, clarity and competitiveness, geared to add value to the labour market locally and internationally”, Dr Ndebele added. Together, the speeches underscored BA ISAGO’s unwavering pursuit of Academic excellence and its responsiveness to both National and Global trends in Education and employment.
