MOSHUPA: The wait is finally over for Moshupa residents who have looked forward to the construction of a primary hospital in their village since the days of Vice President, Mokgweetsi Masisi’s father, Setlhomo.

While some had lost hope since the promise of the hospital almost 30 years ago, the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Shannaz El-Halabi assured them that its construction will start in October this year behind the Moshupa Senior Secondary school.

El-Halabi briefed the Moshupa Sub-District councillors and council senior management staff during the Member of Parliament (MP) for Moshupa/Manyana, Mokgweetsi Masisi’s constituency tour on Monday. She said the design will be similar to that of Shakawe Hospital and it will consist of 65 staff houses. She said the hospital will offer all the health services which are commensurate with its standard. Though currently the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is on-going, the construction is expected to consume more than P400 million.
