The upcoming elective congresses of the Botswana National Front (BNF) for the respective mother body and youth league will test the stability of the party.

After many years of infighting, the BNF is enjoying stability after their two congresses under the leadership of Duma Boko. Boko took over the presidency of the BNF in 2010 at the Mochudi congress and now the party is basking in the glory of stability.

After his election to the leadership of the leftwing movement, some disgruntled members challenged his membership of the BNF without success. All the court cases against him were dismissed with costs. With apparently no challenger to his leadership, Boko is looking forward to lead the party beyond the July congress this year. It is not yet clear which constituency will hold the elective congress.
