Lioness Ratang broke into the music scene a year ago, as her soulful Amapiano tunes took the local music scene by surprise. In an interview with Arts&Culture, the songstress explained that being a professional musician came as a surprise for her. She said although she always knew how to sing, turning professional was a far-fetched dream. This young vocalist has close to 40 collaborations. However, only four of them came out to be hits. These include Nako tsele, Call Me, Mwari weh and Show me.
“I have my own EP, which I released last year in August. All my music was released in South Africa and it comes from my life experience. I literally sing about myself. In the future, I would love to see myself collaborating with Kabza De Small. "I believe if I get a chance I will make really spiritually good music. I have grown immensely when I look at how far I have come. Songs that made me famous are Nako tsele and Call Me. I make dance music and also music is from the heart,” she said. Even though she says she started making music as just a hobby, she said she never in her wildest dreams thought she would by now have made a career that has a massive growth out of it.
