House Kwasa artist Detective Mjein, real name Onalethata Senjoba, has released his new single 'Baba Ngiyacela'. The House track, featuring Lucia Dottie, draws from personal loss and explores spiritual themes within a three-step production.

Mjein crafted the song as a tribute to his cousin Thabo Solomon. “Last year in September 2025, I lost my cousin Thabo Solomon. The song is a tribute to him,” he explained. The title “Baba Ngiyacela” means “Modimo re a kopa: God, we are asking.”

In the track, Lucia Dottie’s smooth crooning forms the body of the song, while Mjein’s raspy vocals drive the emotional core. During his verse, Mjein adopts a Kwaito-inspired cadence and delivery as he laments to God. The production, handled by Emjoe Records and Dj Skizoh BW in Mogoditshane, creates an atmospheric and gentle feel. Mjein explained that he wanted to bring “a new melody so that my supporters out there can be surprised by it.”
