In an interview with Arts&Culture this week, B Bolokwe whose real names are Boatametse Bolokwe stated that when composing the song, there was only one thing at the back of his mind, which is to extend gratitude to women. “The writers are always focused on men when writing songs and I asked myself if women are really appreciated because these are the people that have carried us for nine months before we were even born,” he said. The musical artist went on to further state that this is a song that is aimed at breaking stereotypes by changing how women are perceived in society.
Further describing the song, B Bolokwe highlighted that not only does the song seek to appreciate women for the tremendous work they put out, it is also a way to inspire them. “This is a song to women to also inspire them to go out there and secure the bag. I hope that it inspires them to know that nothing is impossible in this life even if you are a woman,” B Bolokwe said. The 43-year-old also said Thari ya Sechaba has even surpassed how he had envisioned it to turn out. “This song is really a great song as people even in South Africa (SA) are using the song in their productions, which is really a great thing that I had never imagined,” raved B Bolokwe.
