Local actress Kate Nkawana has invited South African actors to Botswana for an event called media extravaganza on September 24 at the University of Botswana (UB) library auditorium.

The actors include Humbulani Tsharani, who plays the role of Mulimisi, a traditional healer in the popular South African soapie Muvhango, Mulalo also from Muvhango, Otshepeng Ruele a producer from the recently ended Ashes to Ashes and Cornet Mamabolo best known for his starring role as Thabo ‘Tbose’ Maputla in the SABC1 drama series Skeem Saam.

In an interview with Showbiz, Nkawana said the idea to come up with the media extravaganza came last year during a visit to SABC studios. She said she met with Gabriel Temudzani, a South African actor best known for his starring role as Chief Azwindini Mukwevho on the SABC2 soapie Muvhango. “The idea has always been there. Initially I was to bring Temudzani here but I ended up reaching out to other actors in business,” she said.
