Molaakgosi preaches through writing

When other authors opt for writing fiction, biography, sports and other genres, Lesang Molaakgosi finds herself using her writing skills to preach the word of God.

She explained to Arts&Culture that her love for writing developed from a tender age at primary school where she wrote poems, short stories and compositions. However, it was in 2004 after listening to a sermon in church, that she started to work on her book and develop it in chapters.

Although she shelved the work, she later on revisited it in 2011 and felt that it was time she wrote something to be read by other people. “I introduced reading and writing to my students, and I edited their work. One student wrote a farewell poem for President Festus Mogae, his work earned him a lot and that encouraged me.
