Miss Botswana organisation has announced that it will host its inaugural Mindset Change Beauty Expo on March 22 at the Rail Park Mall parking lot in Gaborone, a day before Miss Botswana 2024 grand finale.

Vincent Matthys, the head of Marketing at the Miss Botswana Mindset Change Beauty Expo, told MmegiOnline that the event's goal is to broaden the definition of beauty.

"This year's beauty expo will showcase our Miss Botswana top 10 finalists in the Top Model fast track competition. These participants come from diverse backgrounds and will walk the ramp in designs created by local designers, emphasising diversity and self-acceptance," said Matthys.

He explained that the expo aims to promote a positive mindset around beauty. "The expo aims to showcase diverse representations of beauty, self-acceptance, and confidence and encourage self-love amongst attendees. Moreover, the expo will expand what beauty means from the inside out, with the help of healthcare practitioners and many alike," he said.

Furthermore, Matthys mentioned that the expo will incorporate sustainable and ethical beauty practices by featuring eco-friendly products, showcasing companies with sustainable production methods.

"It will promote cruelty-free and vegan options, and there will be workshops on green beauty habits," he added. Matthys emphasised that Miss Botswana hopes to create a significant impact on the attendees of the aesthetics and beauty expo by promoting inner beauty standards.

"This will inspire confidence and empower personal growth. The expo's focus on mindset change signifies a shift in perspective towards beauty and aesthetics, personal growth, and self-improvement," said Matthys. He emphasised that the expo will promote sustainability, educate consumers and professionals, and encourage inclusion and diversity in the beauty industry for a better future.

"The expo's long-term goals and vision include promoting sustainability, educating consumers and professionals, and fostering inclusion and diversity within the beauty industry. Through collaborations with various stakeholders, the expo aims to create a more inclusive and sustainable future for the beauty industry," he said.
