Itshireletse star dies

Just as the nation was mourning the sudden death of Umbrella for Democratic Change leader, Gomolemo Motswaledi and former Chief justice Julian Nganunu, Ramokgwebana born television series actor Kenneth Bayah Nkomo, who many got to know as “Nkomo”, for his famous role in the police drama series, Itshireletse, as a tsotsi, passed away suddenly on Thursday.

The man who made his name through the Sunday evening drama series died this past Thursday after what the Botswana Police Service (BPS) spokesperson deems as a short illness.

The officer who joined the BPS two decades ago was one of the pioneers of Itshireletse and has participated in a number of productions for the docudrama. In a press statement from Christopher Mbulawa, Nkomo was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2008.
