Local musicians, DJ LaTimmy and DJ Harrycane are taking up the local music industry by the storm. Just after releasing a single titled ‘Dubula’ a fortnight ago, the duo released an Amapiano EP dubbed ‘MANS&CANE’.

LaTimmy and Harrycane released the single, Dubula under Wanitwa Mos Entertainment which belongs to South African producer and deejay, Master KG. The song has been doing relatively well in the digital platforms ever since.

Though it seems LaTimmy and Harrycane have a hit on their hands with the single , the two continue to treat the music fanatics with new music. Last week Thursday the duo treated the media with a listening session of their new EP at D’Nest Bar & Grill where people could listen to it and critique it. The EP itself contains seven songs.

Reminiscing on how the EP came about, LaTimmy revealed to the media that he was approached by Harrycane to come and work together in the new EP. “Harrycane came to me and told me to do an Amapiano EP with him, which I then told him I am not interested because ‘Amapiano’ is not my sound,” he said. He however stated that upon hearing one of Harrycane’s beat he had a change of heart and agreed to do the EP with him.

LaTimmy further stated that with their new Amapiano EP, they wanted to do something different from all the other amapiano songs out there. “We did something different with this EP and it is really different from all other amapiano songs because we used the Subiya language instead of the Zulu language that is really common,” he said.

For people who are really relatively new in the Amapiano genre, Harrycane and LaTimmy really delivered something of an extraordinary with their EP. From the first song during the listening session at the launch, the two got a nod from people in attendance at D’Nest.

Though the media and other people in attendance loved all songs in the EP, they had that one song that stood out. People loved the song titled ‘Kamwi’ which when translated to English means ‘sunshine’ as fanatics pleaded with Harrycane and LaTimmy to play it once more.

Harrycane was the sole producer of the album while LaTimmy carried the whole vocals of the album. Asked if there is a chance for them to sign with Wanitwa Mos now that they have a song under the record label, LaTimmy echoed that both him and Harrycane are in talks with Master KG.
