GIMC Jazz fest moves to Jamali Stadium

The Gaborone International Music and Culture (GIMC) Jazz Festival slated for August 31, 2019 has been moved from the Duma FM grounds in Gaborone North to the Jamali Stadium in Tlokweng.

The organisers through a communiqué on their official Facebook page posted this earlier today.  The communiqué states that the organisers came to the decision after consultations with police, residents of Gaborone North and venue owners due to the complaints by some residents about the noise that permeates from festivals and also issues with some logistics with the former venue. 

This does not come as a surprise since the venue has not been booked for music festivals of late.  Music promoters have been having a hard time getting a 6pm to 6am permit with the Gaborone City Council in the past.
