Local fashion designers will have the opportunity to showcase their creative talents during an upcoming Fashion Week slated for February 16-17, 2024 at the Cresta Lodge in Gaborone.

The Fashion Week, which is organised by Starlight Studio, in partnership with Duma FM and Fashion Design and Creative Arts will be held under the theme, ‘Fashion Week of All Nations, Afrique Collections’. Its aim is to showcase and enhance the creativity of young designers in Botswana’s fashion industry.

The founder of Starlight Studio, Daisy Botsoba Tlhaloganyang, said the primary objective of the Fashion Week is to boost Botswana’s economic diversification drive by empowering the youth through fashion, culture, and clothing manufacturing. Tlhaloganyang also said by providing a platform for young designers from TVET institutions and fashion design entrepreneurs, the event aims to enhance creativity and talent in Botswana’s fashion industry. On other matters, Tlhaloganyang explained that they have invited two designers from South Africa, Durban July’s organisers and other two designers from Ghana.
