Celebrated across the southern region, the Dikhwaere Festival remains one of the most respected and vibrant events in Botswana, and this year’s festival is sure to live up to the hype. Set against the tranquil backdrop of the Gamolele River, the festival will take place at the picturesque Dipidipidi Garden in Gakgatla village, located in the heart of Kweneng, during this Easter weekend. The venue is easily accessible, lying conveniently between Thamaga and Molepolole, or alternatively between Gaborone and Molepolole. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, Dipidipidi Garden is a local favourite for choir performances, weddings, parties, and other celebrations, making it the perfect spot to create lasting memories with friends and family.
The venue’s beautiful setting, combined with the lively energy of the event, will ensure an unforgettable experience for all attendees. This year’s festival will feature some of the finest choirs from Botswana's southern region, each known for its exceptional talent and powerful performances. These choirs include Mokwepa Choir from Molepolole, Bamphetlhe Choir from Thamaga and Dikopane Choir from Molepolole. With such a dynamic lineup, festival-goers can expect an electrifying display of choral music that will have everyone on their feet. "Perhaps the most exciting part of this year’s event is that the Easter Dikhwaere Festival is entirely free of charge. The festival invites everyone, from families to music lovers, locals to tourists, to join in the celebration. Gates will open at 2:00 PM, with the festivities continuing into the evening. The management of Dipidipidi Garden assures festival-goers that there will be tight security to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees," said Oman Nkonyane, the event organiser.
