BOCRA licences four TV stations

Broadcasters upon receiving licenses from BOCRA

Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) on Friday licenced four TV stations. The four are Ovy Networ, Alfaview, Deep Vibe productions T/A Clouds TV and Econet Botswana T/A Kwese TV. The four companies applied for licences after a public notice for licence bidding was released early this year.

Alfaview and Ovy will operate as subscription satellite television service providers. Clouds TV will operate as free to air satellite television service provider. Kwese TV will be a subscription management service provider.

“The licensees will carry all the broadcasting obligations including responsibility over suitability of broadcast material for Botswana audience.
