Overgrown Grass A Danger

Besides being an eyesore in the country’s capital city, the overgrown grass that has become commonplace since the ensuing of the rains pose a serious danger to motorists and pedistrians alike.

Thickets on both sides of most roads are causing problems for motorists in Gaborone. To say they obstruct the view for the driver is an understatement. It’s just about impossible to know whether the road is clear enough to make that crucial turn or just trust in luck.  This does not in any way help the cause of working to reduce the high rate of accidents. It is just a recipe for disaster. What about the no less vulnerable pedestrian who can never be sure about what is lurking in the thickets? We appeal to those responsible to address this issue as soon as possible.  Surely this is the time to mobilise Ipelegeng workers to clear the bushes. While we understand that there are high costs involved in such an endevour, it would be worthwhile before lives are lost.
