Pula in mixed trading

Bank of Botswana statistics released this week show that the pula traded in the mixed in the month of August gaining against the rand while losing against the dollar.

In August, the pula depreciated against the US Dollar (4.0 percent), pound (1.8 percent) and the euro (0.2 percent) while appreciating against the rand (1.6 percent) and the yen (1.5 percent) in August. On an annual basis (twelve months to September 2014), the pula depreciated against the pound (8.5 percent), US dollar (7.8 percent), euro (2.0 percent) while appreciating against the rand (4.1 percent) and the yen (2.3 percent), respectively.
