PFL partners with Green Gem for rural food security

Local NGO, Palms for Life Fund Botswana (PFL) has signed a partnership agreement with citizen-owned horticultural producer, Green Gem, to roll out fully functional hydroponic units in remote communities around the country.

Hydroponics is a method of growing plants such as vegetables without soil by using water-based solutions. The project is expected to strengthen food security, income-generating opportunities and skills development for remote area dwellers.

In collaboration with the government, the partnership between PFL and Green Gem will target ten villages that include Malatswai, Sehunuo, Kedia, Khwee, Otse, Mokgenene, Manxotae, New Xade, Kgomodiatshaba and Kuke.
