MTN To Offer Internet Alternative

MTN Business Botswana has applied for a fibre and licensed frequency wireless licence, which will allow them to offer internet services independently outside of the BoFiNet structure.

According to MTN finance manager Mthulisi Malinga, through the licence they will be able to build frequency to wireless network allowing them to offer broadband without relying on other providers.

“We are currently relying on Botswana Fibre Networks (Bofinet) for last mile infrastructure, which is Fibre and Licensed frequency wireless,” he said.
