Luxembourg firm seeks to acquire Regent, Hollard

A Luxembourg-registered firm, Direct Axis International (DAI) has expressed interest in acquiring two local insurance companies; Regent Botswana and Hollard Botswana. In a statement this week, the Competition Authority announced that it has received a merger notification for the proposed acquisition.

DAI seeks to acquire 100% issued share capital of the Regent Botswana Group and 70% issued share capital in the Hollard Botswana Group.

The authority therefore sought any stakeholder views for, or against, the proposed merger, which may be sent within 10 days from date of publication.
