“Bring the thrill of fun and excitement to corporate events is what we do best,” these are the words of Ronald Chinhengo, the creative young Motswana who wants to revolutionise the orthodox way of doing corporate events.

Born with an ear for good music and a heart that leaps at the thought of attending an event, Chinhengo says his dream and passion was always to make other people happy through his love for music and sense of creativity.

This flare would later lead him to opening Grouptag 22, an events management company that offers a perfect blend between creating a joyous atmosphere and maintaining the decorum of corporate events. “I was inspired by the evident gap in the events management market as especially with the absence of events managers that use modern technological equipment, and this was a chance for me to finally deplore my skills and passion,” he said. Chinhengo’s Grouptag offers tailor made settings for corporate events, social gatherings providing an array of technological equipment ranging from the latest sound systems, lighting and pyrotechnics.

“We opened our doors in 2022 and since then we have been carefully reinvesting all we make purchasing the latest technology that helps us to deliver the best experience to our customers,” he said, adding “and this far we have managed to provide our services to an array of customers ranging from companies and to government departments”.

The energetic entrepreneur further said that what sets them apart and gives them a competitive edge is their “world-class” sound system that can be intelligently fused with artificial lights delivering a euphoric experience for customers. He said, “When we deliver events for our clients we always make sure to deliver the best and what allows us to do that is the kind of equipment we have it allows us to provide tailor made experience for customers and deliver the best experience that provides a perfect blend between sound and light.” Like any other business Grouptag has its own hurdles to overcome and for Chinhengo the biggest challenge is getting access to government events.

He says the industry has been monopolised and government is slow to add new players into the space making his accessible market tighter. “It’s tough to land a government corporate event, it’s always the same people and that is not good for business,” he said.
