BotswanaPost has introduced a ‘Bulk payment’ service on the renewal of vehicle licence registrations, as part of their efforts to enhance existing partnership with the Department of Road, Transport and Safety (DRTS).

Through the service, individuals and corporates with a fleet of five or more vehicles will be allowed to renew their vehicle licences by either dropping off their registration books at the post office and collect them later. According to the post’s general manager, marketing and communications, Lebogang Bok they have decided to roll out the service to offer convenience to their clients.

“This service conveniently provides the customer with the option to either drop off their registration books for renewal at the nearest Post Office, or arrange for the Post Office to collect the registration books,” Bok said. She added that the renewal of vehicle licence registration has over the years proven to be one of the most highly consumed service at the post office, hence the decision to roll it out to all their 128 branches including the three recently opened branches in select Sefalana stores. “The demand for this service continues to grow and therefore has been extended to the recently opened post offices located within Sefalana stores,” she said. According to Bok, bulk payment service offers a number of benefits over and above the convenience. She said the service also provides customers with a solution in times of network outage, as the post office will ensure that the transaction is processed as soon as the network resumes prior to collection.
