Capturing the mood of a school

This is an attempt to capture the mood of a school at the tail end of a long , arduous and energy sapping academic year. At this stage, fatigue would have taken its toll and also buoyed by a burning desire to go on a Christmas shopping spree, the school troops are looking forward to a well deserved respite.

Like a war weary army upon learning of a declaration of a ceasefire, everyone wants to scuttle out of the scene as soon as possible. Depending on the culture of a school, there are standard and distinct protocols associated with closure of business.

The standard protocols are mere compliance issues that have universal applicability entailing a clearance exercise based on a check list of things required. Usually there are (if any) limited compliance challenges as many members of staff would want to satisfy the requirements in order to secure their release.
