After thoroughly enjoying their first time experience with mussels, maloba when I made them in tomato sauce like my mom used to, my kids have not stopped talking about them.

A couple of day’s back they even cornered me into buying a bag, and for a while I didn’t get an opportunity to make them. I couldn’t tell you why I delayed so much because this dish comes together in no time at all and is far from complex.

I believe that the flavour comes from the mussels themselves and you really do not have to do much to bring the dish together. Garlic, butter and lemon are a holy trinity of seafood, and are a flavour combination composition that I have learnt and come to appreciate over the past few years of being intentional in the kitchen. Either by watching cooking shows and or by trying out different recipes.
