Friday night was the longest night for all My Star fans who filled Ditshupo Hall to capacity to witness if their favourite contestant made it to the top three or if they won the whooping P100,000 cash prize and a record deal in the United Kingdom.

When the moment of truth arrived everyone was sitting anxiously on their chairs; some with their fingers crossed that their idols would take the My Star 2012 title.

The number three title was taken by Motswafere with 11,262 votes.  Some members of the audience said he deserved to walk away with the prize money.  He instead walked away with P20,000.  He got P7,500 from Mascom and the My Star team decided to top it up with P12,500 to make it P 20,000.
